There are 2 different rides on a Monday evening. These run all through the year.
Ride 1
These will leave at 6.30pm from outside the Firs Pub on the junction of the Cromer Rd and Fifers Lane, near Norwich Airport. These are gentle rides of 15 -20 miles.
Ride 2
This leaves from the Waitrose roundabout on the outskirts of Wymondham at 6.30 every Monday. It is usually 20 -25 miles in length and a little quicker than the Norwich ride.
RIDERS WILL NEED LIGHTS ON BOTH OF THESE RIDES.
These rides are about 50/60 miles in length and are ridden at an average of about 15/16mph. Sometimes we do longer rides of 70/80 miles. We always ride in a bunch and take it in turns to ride at the front. We never leave riders behind..

March 20th - Firs Pub, Cromer Road, Norwich.
March 27th - Waitrose roundabout, Wymondham.

Rides of about 30/40 miles and at an average speed of about 14/15mph. These are ideal for newer riders who want to ride that bit further. They will leave from outside The Fiveways Pub. This is on the Fiveways roundabout, where the Earlham Rd meets Bluebell Lane near the University.
If the weather is bad and you want to know if the ride will take place, please ring Tony Goodall (01603 407597) by 8.30am.
PLEASE NOTE:- THE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY RIDES WILL BOTH LEAVE AT 9AM UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. PLEASE BE PUNCTUAL.
MUDGUARDS SHOULD BE FITTED FOR ALL RIDES IN THE WINTER. A REAR MUD FLAP IS ALSO DESIRABLE.
Riders need to bring the following when joining any of our rides:-
- At least one spare tube (preferably 2) and tyre levers.
- A drinks bottle - maybe 2 for longer rides. Dehydration will seriously hinder performance. Energy drinks are a good idea.
- Energy bars or other high energy food is a must. 'Hitting the wall' or 'the hunger bonk', as cyclists call it, is not pleasant. An energy bar can work wonders if you are feeling tired and need a boost.
- A waterproof - getting wet makes you cold and soon saps the energy.
- Keeping warm is crucial - this preserves energy. As winter comes on, shorts are not a good idea. Also, warm gloves and a skull cap to wear under the helmet do much to keep you warm. Thin thermal under layers are also great.
